This country is situated in the southern hemisphere, on the coast of the

entices the tourist to this fascinating country founded in the vestiges of the
pre-Colombian civilisations, in which numerous cultures and empires existed in a
period that began many millenniums ago, until the moment of the Spanish invasion
which was led by Francisco Pizarro in 1532. One of the last and probably one of
the most important was the Incan Empire, whose capital city was
Cusco

situated at 3,300 metres above sea level.

the Spanish invasion. It is both cultural and world heritage.
According to registers and reports of various Spanish writers, the first
Incan Emperor came from an island situated in

Titicaca
, an authentic ocean (170 km in length)
situated at 4,000 metres above sea level!
One of the relatively new destinations of great interest in Peru is the
possibility to travel through the mysterious Amazonian forest, Far from any form
of pollution, it is an excellent opportunity to share experiences with the local
population and try to understand the delicate Amazonian ecosystem. There are
innumerable species of animals and plants that can be seen, among which are
parrots, macaws, diverse species of monkeys and alligators…etc. There are
various lodges that are prepared to receive visitors and provide them with a
good standard of comfort, in a region so remote as the Amazon. Peru, and other
countries of South America, represent an area which is becoming increasingly
important as a tourist destination. For many years, many visitors and tourist
operators alike avoided this location due to the fame that the ‘black period’
of terrorism had cast for so long. But time has changed. The Peruvian government
is supporting all of the tourist infra-structures. The results are obvious and
the rate of increase in foreign tourism is increasing annually around 17%.
