Day 01
|
Arrival in Lima
|
 |
Reception at the Lima airport
and transfer to our hotel in Lima. Short briefing accompanied by a Pisco
Sour, a national Peruvian drink.

Day 02 |
Trip to the Amazon Rain Forest |
 |
After
breakfast, we will board our flight to Puerto Maldonado, a small
jungle town where we will begin our adventure in the rain forest.
After boarding our motorized canoe, we will navigate down the Madre de
Dios River until a point where after registering at a base near the
Bolivian border we will enter the Heath River, where we will head to
our lodge. We will spend the night in the lodge situated near a native
village.

Day 03 |
Macaw Clay Lick and Trip to Lake Sandoval |
 |
After a quick
coffee (or tea) we will board our boat and head into a zone up the river
where we will board a floating blind, that will allow us to observe the
macaw clay lick at a distance of approximately 60 meters. Afterwards we will
go back to the lodge for a proper breakfast and then we will navigate back
to the Madre de Dios River and heat into our second lodge perched in Lake
Sandoval. Late afternoon we will board a canoe or catamaran to observe the
nearby wildlife. After dinner we will make another ride on the lake to
observe caimans with a torch light.

Day 04 |
Lake Sandoval |
 |
Today we will make visits to
other parts of the lake and we will also walk on the trails surrounding the
lodge. On the early morning visit to the lake we will try to observe a
family of Giant Otters (Ptenoura brasiliensis) that live on the lake. This
group of Giant Otter was featured on a documentary broadcasted on the
Discovery Channel.

Day 05 |
Trip to Cusco and Sacred Valley |
 |
Early in the morning we will
travel back to Puerto Maldonado for our flight to Cusco.After our arrival in
this andean city, we will board our Bus and head into the Scared Valley
where we will star visiting the Pisac Ruins as well as the Handicraft Market
on the same town. We will visit an handicraftsman, that will explain us a
bit more about his art. We will spend the night in a hotel situated in the
sacred valley.

Day 06 |
Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes |
 |
In the morning we will visit the
Ollantaytambo Inca ruins and then we will head into Maras where we will walk
through some salt making pools until the lower part of the sacred valley
where our bus will be waiting for us. In the afternoon we will visit a small
village called Willok. You can bring along some sweets to give to the local
children. Around 08.00 pm we will board a train that will take us to Aguas
Calientes.

Day 07 |
Machu Picchu – Cusco |
 |
We will
visits the Machu Picchu Ruins early in the morning and in the afternoon we
will board a train back to Cusco.

Day 08 |
Cusco |
 |
We will have the morning free.
After lunch we will visit the city as well as the nearby Inca ruins of
Tambomachay, Quenko, Puca Pucara and Sacsayhuaman. Around 08 pm, we will
have dinner at a restaurant where we will enjoy local andean dances. |

Day 09 |
Trip to Puno |
 |
Today we will
travel by bus to Puno, where we will visit some locations on the way
including Andahuaylillas, a small town with a Chapel from the XVII century,
as well the Wari ruins of Pikillakta. We will arrive in Puno late
afternoon where we will rest on our hotel.

Day 10 |
Uros Islands and trip to Colca |
 |
In the
morning we will visit the floating islands of the Uros by boat. We will then
return back to Puno for the trip into the Colca Canyon. We will arrive in
our hotel early in the evening, where some relaxing hot water springs will
be waiting for us.

Day 11 |
Cruz del Condor Lookout and Trip to Arequipa |
 |
We will visit
the Cruz del Condor lookout in search for condors that glide regularly on
this spot. We will then head into the white city of Arequipa, where we will
have a chance to make a visit to its center and the Santa Catalina Convent.
Back to our hotel in Arequipa. |

Day 12 |
Trip to Nazca |
 |
Today our trip heads into the
coast, where we will cross part of the desert coast, where our final
destination will be Nazca. On the way we will observe some whale fossiled
bones, that lay on the desert (Tertiary Era). Time to rest on our hotel in
Nazca. |

Day 13 |
Nazca Lines and Ica |

 |
We will have a chance to fly over the Nazca
Lines in the morning. Then we will make a visit to Chauchilla, a pre-inca
cemetery and we will also visit an handicraftsman, that will show how he
uses the same techniques as his ancestors to produces ceramics. Our trip
will the follow to Ica where we will visit the museum as well as the
Huacachina oasis, surrounded by tall sand dunes, ideal for sandboard. Time
to get to our hotel.

Day 14 |
Paracas and Return to Lima |

 |
Our next destination will be Paracas where we will board
a small boat that will take us to the Ballestas Islands, where we will
observe a large colony of Sea Lions and several species of marine birds.
When we return back to shore, we will have the chance to visit part of the
Paracas Natural Reserve. After Lunch, we will drive back to Lima, where we
will rest in our hotel. Farewell dinner.

Day 15 |
Lima and
End of Our Adventure |
 |
In the morning we will visit Lima, as well as one local
museum. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport for the
flight back to you country. |

Tour for You?
This
circuit includes all three main regions of Peru: The tropical
Amazon Rain Forest (jungle), the Andean mountain range and the
desert Coast. In the Amazon, we will visit two areas: One in the
Heath River near the border with Bolivia where we will try to
observe a Macaw Clay Lick, where macaws and parrots gather every
day to ingest clay that helps these birds to neutralize the toxic
effects of some fruits they eat; the other area is in the Lake
Sandoval, where we will learn the ecosystem of an Amazon lake, as
well as the ecology of its surrounding forest trails.
In the Andes, we
will visit Cusco, also called the capital of the Inca Empire, the
Sacred Valley of the Incas, Machu Picchu, the Uros islands on Lake
Titicaca (the highest navigable lake in the world at 3,810 m of
altitude), the Colca Canyon (deepest than the Grand Canyon in the
USA), Arequipa also called “The White City”, surrounded by three
volcanoes.
In the Coast, we
will fly over the Mysterious Nazca Lines, visit a fossilized whale
bone graveyard from the Tertiary Era, pass through Ica and visit
its Huacachina Oasis, navigate on the sea to visit Ballestas
Islands, off the coast of the Paracas Natural Reserve, where we
will observe a large colony of Sea Lions as well as numerous
coastal birds. Lima will be our final destination, where we will
visit its center as well as one of is museums.
